The Alice Dress
The Family Heirloom
Made by my great-great-grandmother Alice for her college graduation, this 1897 dress is not only a keepsake, but a breathtaking example of late Victorian fashion.
To add another layer of family history, this dress was used in 1979 by Alice’s grandaughter for her wedding!
The moment I got to see this dress, I knew I had to make a replica. Thus started an 18 month journey, using math, engineering, computer programming, and artistry to careful examine and recreate this adorable dimity gown.
